8 Ideas for Awesome Office Pranks You’ll Want to Try Out!

10 May 2016

April Fools’ Day is just around the corner, so get ready to have some fun at the office!

We’ve collected some pranks you can pull around the office on your coworkers, or even on your boss, if you’re brave enough!

  1. Post-it: This one is a little time consuming but doesn’t require much clean-up. Simply take one (or several) pads of post-it notes and cover your officemate’s work stations with them. If you feel extra creative, write some funny quotes on the more prominent post-its.
  1. Jell-o Mold: Who could ever forget the first episode of The Office when Jim put Dwight’s stapler in a Jell-o mold? Put your cubicle mate’s stapler, coffee mug, favorite pencil, etc. in a Jell-o mold and place it on his/her desk during lunch or before they come in for work.
  2. Saran wrap: Cover your co-workers chair in saran wrap. This is a slippery but clear material, and if you’re lucky the co-worker won’t notice until s/he is on the floor after slipping off the slippery chair. Only perform this prank on someone who won’t mind taking a slight fall for a good laugh.
  3. Balloon them in: Nothing makes a cubicle more festive than a balloon pit. Except maybe…
  4. A fiesta: Piñatas, sombreros, and margarita glasses (filled with coffee of course) set the stage for fun. Bonus points if the piñata is filled with office supplies.
  5. Teenage dream: If you know your co-worker used to be a major fan of New Kids on the Block or some other teen sensation, decorate her office or cubicle with posters and magazine cut-outs. She’ll feel like she’s in high school again.
  6. Stickers: Stickers can go anywhere, and are especially annoying when they’re all over the keyboard. This is a simple and easy to clean prank that will make anyone’s day.
  7. Prank calls: Prank calls are still as fun to do now as they were when you were 13 and bored on a Tuesday afternoon. The length and type of prank call will depend on the co-worker. Some ideas include: telling your co-worker he won the amazing gift of the mustard of the month club (or some other random prize) or trying to do a hard sell of a made up product. Getting the whole office in on this prank can make for a whole lot of fun.

April Fools’ Day at the office should be fun, but make sure to only perform pranks on those co-workers who can take a joke!
